He was baptised at St Walburge’s Catholic Church, Preston on 12th February 1888. In 1911 he was living with his parents at 159, Brook Street, Preston and working as a ship breaker's labourer. The 55 MT [Mechanical Transport] Company A.S.C. was based at Bulford as a part of Southern Command and later became a GHQ Troops Supply Company for the BEF. |
