1: At the time of their marriage Richard was living at 49 Holstein Street, Preston and Henrietta was living at Elder Villa, Newton Street, Ashton-on-Ribble.
2: William Morton Shepherd was born in Preston but I have not been able to locate his baptism record. His birth was registered at Preston and the GRO reference is 1st Quarter 1887, Preston, 8e 629.
3: Helena Josephine, a Nun, was known as Sister Bernadette.
4: The above information is taken from baptism and marriage registers, and microfilmed copies of burial registers for Preston Cemetery, all held at the Lancashire Archives; as well as the monument inscription on the family grave in Lea, near Preston.
